No matter what type of hair you have, it is nice to enjoy a soft smooth shiny straight hair every once in a while. Straight hair is a classic. Many women love to wear their hair this way because it is very feminine, simple and manageable.

Not everyone is blessed with a beautiful straight hair though. But it is no longer impossible to have one. There are hair straighteners available in the market today that will surely help you have that straight hair you always wanted. Before you get too excited and grab one, there are some factors that you have to consider. Here are some of the helpful tips you can use in picking the straightener that will work for you.

1. Your hair type. Since it is a hair product, your first major concern is your hair type. You have to take into consideration the length of your hair and its texture.

2. The quality of the product is also important. Many think that all the products are the same. Some would even choose those that are readily available in the stores that are cheaper. If you are going to purchase one, make sure that they carry a trusted brand. You can be sure that these products are developed by professionals and the product is made of high quality materials that will not damage your hair.

3. The size of the plate is another thing that you should check. The size depends on the length and texture of your hair. Long coarse hair needs wider plate. It can range from 1.5 inch to three inches. This range also applies to thick and coarse hair of any length. Wider plates are faster to use but are heavy. The more popular size for most is the 1.25 to 1.5 inch. It is more convenient to have hair straighteners of this size because it is lighter and easier to carry around.

4. Another important factor to consider is the temperature. This also depends on the type of hair you have. Normal hair require around 360-3800F. Thick, course and really curly hair will need more heat at about 380-4100F. While chemically treated hair, as well as damaged and fine hair will need less than 3400F. During your purchase, choose one that has an adjustable temperature. And when you use it for the first time, start with the lowest possible heat suited for your hair and adjust it to your desired level.

Straight hair is definitely the simplest way you can wear your hair. And anyone can achieve this today. With the many options of straighteners in the market, anyone will surely find the right product for her hair. In order to find the best fit, she should know her hair type first. Is it dry, long, curly, fine or damaged? Knowing the type of hair she has will make it easier for her to choose the size of the plate and temperature. And most importantly, she should choose the brand she can trust. There are cheap mass produced brands that can cause more damage than beauty to her hair.
