Joint Supplement - The Most Effective Joint Supplement

When someone is having pain or stiffeness of the joints, that person can take joint supplements to relieve those symptoms. There is a lot of confusion out there about joint supplements, so before you buy it's a good idea to learn as much as you can about them, as well as know the best kinds.

1. Glucosamine

Glucosamine is a natural substance which is needed to produce glycosaminoglycan, a molecule that is used for formation and repair of cartilage as it inhibits cartilage cell characteristics. Treatment with glucosamine is based on the idea that oral consumption of glucosamine might boost the creation of new cartilage as it will supply additional building blocks necessary for creating new cartilage. Daily recommended dose of glucosamine is 1500mg for one to two months. Treatment may need to be continued when the patient show a good response.

2. Chondroitin

Chondroitin is a major glycosaminoglycan present in cartilage which functions as blocks enzymes that may potentially destroy the cartilage. It is an important role for the flexibility of the cartilage. The Daily Dose recommendation 800mg (split into 2 doses of 400mg each) for one to two months. If a patients show a good respond respond, treatment should be continued. Oral Chondroitin is often taken in combination with glucosamine.

3. Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is prescribed as it is believe to supports healthy connective tissues like tendons, ligaments, and muscle. MSM has not been evaluated as much as glucosamine and chondroitin for its performance as a joint supplement.

4. S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine (SAMe)

S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine (SAMe) is a natural form of bioactive methionine which is found in every cell in your body. It provides protection for joints and increase the number of cartilage. Studies suggest that SAMe are effective treatments for osteoarthritis through a mechanism similar to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. The recommended dosage for SAMe is 200"�"600 mg daily.

5. Vitmin D

This helps prevents muscle weakness and bone loss. Intriguingly, recent research suggests adequate amounts of Vitamin D may help in fighting osteoarthritis. Vitamin D can be obtained from sun exposure, eat foods rich in vitamin D (milk, eggs, cheese, and fish oil), and supplement.

5. Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is nutritional supplements that is believed to reduces joint pain. Hyaluronic acid is natural compound found in connective tissue that important to hold lubricating moisture in joints and cartilage.

6. Calcium

Calcium is important to building and strengthening the bones, cartilage and joints. If you do not get enough calcium in your diet, your body will start stripping calcium from your joints and bones to supply your muscles with the calcium they need. You can obtain sufficient amount of calcium through balanced diet or supplement. Food rich sources of calcium are green leafy vegetables, cereal and wheat flour, low fat milk, cheese, yogurt, tofu, orange juice, almonds, figs, raisins, blackeye peas.
