Common names of these medications

You might recognize beta blockers by brand names like Penbutolol Timolol , Atenolol , or Arotinolol .

The most common brand names of Benzodiazepines are Valium and Xanax. SSRIs can be recognized by such brand names as Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft. The most common Tricyclic Antidepressants are Effexor, Elavil and Doxepin. And Nardil is a popular MAOI.

Your doctor will make the right choice

As you can see, there are many anxiety panic attack medications available. Your physician will decide which is most likely to help you. . And be sure to tell the doctor about any other drugs - or even natural supplements you may be taking - so there is no risk of a bad reaction.

Prescription medications are probably the best way to treat full blown anxiety and panic attacks.
