Bad Habits That Speed Up Skin Aging Process

It is no secret that everyone wants to maintain a youthful and healthy appearance for as long as possible. In fact, when a person reach 25 years old, the function of individual cells and organ systems gradually declines. We cannot avoid this natural phenomenon. Our skin's functions will deplete sooner or later and we will start to see the major changes in skin structure.

But did you know that bad habits and an unhealthy lifestyle can bad habits and an unhealthy lifestyle can put you on the fast track for the skin aging process. Here are common of the bad habits which will accelerate skin aging process:

1. Smoking and excessive alcohol intake

Smoking is not only harmful to for our health, it also speed up the normal aging process of your skin, contributing to wrinkles. Smoking damages collagen and elastin, the elements that give skin its support and structure. Besides, alcohol will reduce the amount of grease in the skin, skin dehydration, indirect effects to the normal function of the skin.

2. Stress

Stress is extremely bad for your skin and body. Stress can often cause the face to frown, which over time would cause more wrinkles to appear on the face. Practicing meditation or gentle exercises daily can considerably reduce stress.

3. Lack of sleep

Sleep is important because it lets our body recuperate from the exhaustive long day we just had. It gives our cells the time to rebuild and our skin to regenerate. If the body doesn’t get much sleep, our skin will become dry and less elastic. Breaking this habit by taking 7 to 8 hours of sleep a day can help your body recover and feel better and energetic in the long run.

4. Lack of exercise
Regular exercise can help prevent excess weight gain and manage a wide range of health problems and concerns, including stroke, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes and heart disease. By doing regular exercises an promote blood circulation in the whole body, the skin in turn gets replenished and rejuvenated. Try to be active on a more consistent basis, be it walking, jogging, cycling or even dancing.

5. Poor diet

Not getting sufficient supply of Vitamins, Minerals, Proteins and water drinking vulnerable to developing wrinkles and fine lines at an early age. Make sure to drink plenty of water, also eat a variety of fruits and vegetables

6. Excessive sun exposure

Moderate amounts of sun exposure are essential for good health including the production of vitamin D by the body; but excessive sunlight leads to premature aging, dry, wrinkled skin and give the skin a leathery appearance. Always apply sunscreen beefore going out in the sun.
