Avoid Alcohol

Alcoholism, excessive alcohol consumption, or alcohol withdrawal can kill certain nerve cells, resulting in tremor, especially in the hand. Doctors may use small amounts of alcohol to aid in the diagnosis of certain forms of tremor but not as a regular treatment for the condition.

Herbal remedies

Herbal remedies that are believed to be effective in treating essential tremor include gambir, american skullcap, oat straw, lady's slipper, arnica, German chamomile and gotu kola. It is always advisable to consult a physician before using any herbal remedies.
