Essential oils can be used very effectively to initiate a mood for romance and intimacy. It ‘s so easy to create romantic ambiance.
But how does it work? Is it real?
When essential oil is inhaled, it activates the nerve cells in the nasal cavity which send impulses that stimulate the brain, produce positive feelings and emotions. At the same time substances of the essential oils are drawn into the lungs and then quickly absorbed into the bloodstream providing physical therapeutic benefits. Moreover, when an essential oil is applied to skin, it penetrates the skin and enters the bloodstream.

The human sense is very powerful. In fact, the body can distinguish around 10,000 different scents!
As scents are inhaled, the smell travels across the olfactory nerves located inside the nose and then up into the part of the brain that controls our moods, our memories and our ability to learn. This area is called the Limbic System and when stimulated it releases endorphins, neurotransmitters and other “feel-good" chemicals. What all of that means is that smells have a subtle way of effecting your mind and emotions.
Just think of the way you feel when you sniff the scent from a fresh bouquet of flowers, remember about the last time you smelled a rose. They have a gorgeous aroma. In that moment it fills us with joy. You instantly feel better. There are signals to our brain that activate smell-related emotions and feelings. Aromatherapy scents can make you feel good!
