Your Water Faucet Doesnt Always Give You Clean Drinking Water

Visitors: 207

When you turn on the faucet to get yourself a glass of water or fill up a pot to cook your family's meal you may be under the impression you are using the purest drinking water. This is not always true. There are many hidden chemicals and toxins that prevent you from having clean drinking water.

What's Hiding in Your Water Supply?

Unbeknownst to most urban citizens, what is lurking in the water supply can be harmful if ingested in large quantities. There are numerous contaminants that are found in what is thought to be clean drinking water such as asbestos, lead, sodium, arsenic, radon, fluoride, copper and mercury to name just a few. These contaminants enter the water supply in a number of ways such as sewage or industrial runoff and by contaminants leeching into the groundwater supply. Storm runoff also contributes to the lack of clean drinking water as well.

How You Can Ensure Your Family Has Access to the Purest Drinking Water

A water purification system is the ideal defense when you are seeking to have the purest drinking water. Along with a water purification system there are a few things you can do in order to protect the water supply of your friends and neighbors. You should never use commercial septic tank cleaning products for residential septic systems. Never pour material that is deemed hazardous such as solvents, paint or paint thinner, waste oil, pesticides or disinfectants down the sink or flush in the toilet. This goes for grease and cooking oil as well because it causes the leaching system and soil to clog.

Be careful that you don't overload your septic system with waste from food from the garbage disposal. Never dispose non-biodegradable items such as disposable diapers in the toilet as they will not decompose. Avoid using chlorine bleach to clean sinks and toilets.

Your septic tank should be cleaned out at least every 2 to 3 years for optimum performance. Make sure you keep documentation and records regarding your septic cleaning habits. Keep an eye out for a system that may be failing such as wet spots above the leaching field and wastewater backing up when the system has been heavily used.

You Deserve to Have the Purest Drinking Water

Whether you are raising a family, caring for the elderly or are a single person, you have the right to have access to clean drinking water. It is not just people living in third world countries that have little or no access to the purest drinking water, but those that live in industrialized nations that give little or no thought to where they dispose of their wastes need to be vigilant as well. There are tests available that you can perform at home to be sure that you ingesting clean drinking water. Serious medical conditions can be caused by contaminants that may be skulking in what you think is clean drinking water. Find out if your water is safe and invest in a good water purification system to ensure that your family is ingesting only the purest drinking water you can provide.
