Let's face it, once you've had Cystitis once, it's an experience that you are unlikely to forget in a hurry. The symptoms most seem to identify with are the constant urge to use the toilet; not too mention the horrendous burning sensation that comes with it. OUCH! Makes you wince, just thinking about it!
For those of you who are lucky enough not to have experienced it, Cystitis is an infection that occurs in the lining of the Urethra or the lining of the bladder.
According to the statistics most women will experience Cystitis anytime from their early twenties right through to the Menopause.
The usual medical advice tends to be to drink plenty of water to help flush out your system. You may have even heard that Cranberry Juice is good for Cystitis; well, not necessarily so, according to Dr Larrian Gillespie - “If you have an infection, taking Cranberry Juice (contains Hyppuronic Acid) makes as much sense as putting out a fire with gasoline! Adding more acid to the urine only serves to make the burning WORSE! However, that being said, Cranberry Juice is thought to be useful for PREVENTING an infection.
So whilst Cranberry Juice may not be your best option for TREATING a bout of Cystitis; what is the alternative? I hear you say! I'll give you two words, Magnetic Therapy. This therapy involves the application of therapeutic Magnets directly above the site of pain or injury. There are no drugs and no needles.
Once the magnets have been applied (north side up), they generate a magnetic field which is strong enough to penetrate through bones, tissues and cells. This results in increased circulation thus allowing more Oxygen and nutrients to be transported to the where it is needed most.
When the body is in a healthy state, there is a good supply of oxygen in the blood and the fluids will register as alkaline. However, when the body is ill, i. e. , in the case of an infection, the bodily fluids become acidic and the amount of oxygen becomes reduced.
Applying a Negative Magnetic Field will help to increase circulation, therefore increases the flow of oxygen; as well as returning the bodily fluids from an acidic to an alkaline optimal state.
According to a study conducted by New Jersey Institute of Technology, a Negative Magnetic Field will significantly decrease the rate at which bacteria spreads. Therefore, demonstrating that Magnet Therapy can be effective at tackling infections.
As I bring this article to a close, I must point out that sometimes Cystitis can be accompanied by more serious symptoms such as fever, nausea, back/groin pain, vomiting and blood in the urine. Should you experience this, do not take any chances, go see a doctor, as this might indicate serious problems with your kidneys. In the meantime, know your options and stay well!
