All these oils are good for the heart and help in reducing inflammation throughout the body. Cod liver oil is especially useful for children because it not only contains high amounts of DHA and EPA, but also some percentages of vitamin A and D.

Cod liver oil capsules are widely available for use and they provide protection against skin diseases and coronary heart disease. Algae oil is recommended for those who are allergic to fish and cannot take fish oil capsules.

However, fish oil is by far the richest source of DHA and EPA fatty acids. Apart from having the highest omega 3 content of oils, fish oil also contains some amount of impurities like heavy metals and toxins. Because of this reason, always find nutritional omega 3 supplements with a label indicating that the oil used for their processing is pharmaceutical grade fish oil and molecularly distilled to make it free from impurities. These refined and thoroughly tested supplement products may come a bit more expensive than other low-quality products. So, you need to be very careful in choosing your fish oil supplement.
