Visitors: 240

Imbalances in kapha predispose you to diseases of the respiratory system, sinus problems, obesity, tumors, mental and physical lethargy, and a tendency to procrastinate. Kapha is composed of earth and water; water, the main element, is contained within the body's mass, or earth. It governs your body's structure and tissues and maintains stability, cohesion, fluid balance, and biological strength. Kapha types are solid and steady, even-tempered and calm, with impressive endurance and a large body size that tends to gain weight.

Your kapha is aggravated if you . . .

  • Have excessively oily skin with blackheads or pimples
  • Gain weight easily or are overweight
  • Retain water and feel bloated
  • Have sluggish digestion and food seems to “just sit in your stomach"
  • Have low energy, sleep too much, feel very tired in the morning
  • Remain drowsy or groggy during the day
  • Experience mucus and congestion in your chest, throat, nose or sinuses
  • Your thinking and reaction time are sluggish or dull
  • Feel sadness or are depressed
  • Procrastinate

The great side of the Kapha person is the sweet, even tempered nature of the person. For any hot headed pitta a kapha person in your life is a blessing. You just get heard but not taken seriously. Water off a duck's back, don't get me wrong, the kapha temperment can get hurt and mad but not very easily. kapha type is the strongest of the body types and can endure, endure, and endure. Love your body and it will give the best of what it has to offer. Hi I am a practicing Chiropractor for the last 25 years. Ayurveda came into my life in 1984. I have study with the best in the nation and the best in India. It is a practice that takes a lifetime to become a master. I love teaching it and practicing it. The results in everyday practice are phenomenal. It takes seven years to get a degree in Ayurveda in India. It is a serious healthcare science that as a doctor of Chiropractic I was prepared to take it on as my specialty. It gives me so much as a human being and supports me as a professional and serves my community with such grace.
