Blizzard Entertainment once again makes its loyal followers laugh with a joke that is epic in some ways, and just plain hilarious in others. Cashing in on the popularity of the Guitar Hero game, the creators of World of Warcraft decided to introduce a new Hero Class that will be available to the latest expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. This Hero Class does not use any physical objects to crush others, nor do they use dark magic spells to bring down their opponents. Nope. They use music. You heard me right! Blizzard Entertainment, as another of their April Fool's jokes, has included the Bard Hero Class in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Dare I say that the Bards are even more badass than Dark Knights, when just by playing a riff on their guitar, they can exterminate their enemies! Here's a more detailed look at this interesting and amusing Hero Class.
Bards are the musicians of Azeroth who have decided to step up and sing songs about themselves and their accomplishments and not just others. With a vow to stop evil, the Bards use the power of their music to vanquish their enemies. Players can enter a battle as a Bard. An interface likened to the Guitar Hero interface will be used. Bard characters would make use of two-handled axes (which look like guitars) as their weapons of choice, from which their musical might will come from. The Bard Hero Class will also have their own resource system known as the “groove. " Bards can fight alone, performing solos that can obliterate dozens, or part of a group.
Who Can Become Bards?
Blizzard Entertainment has not confirmed the rumor, but it seems that all races can rock it out as Bards.
What Can Bards Do?
The Bards Abilities are divided into two: Metal and Punk Rock. Under Metal are the following sample skills:
* I am Murloc -
a very powerful transformational ability.
* Epic Solo -
for every second of performing this skill, 10 groove is needed. This allows a Bard to let out an epic solo song that would stun a maximum of 10 enemies within 20 yards around the Bard. Upon hearing the Bard's epic solo, enemies would “rock out" and they would get 310 to 390 Rock Damage every second. Awesome, right?
* Axe Specialization -
this increases the Bard's skills in handling his ax.
Here are some examples of the Bard Hero Class skills under Punk Rock:
* Noncomformity -
this special skill will deflect mind control, fear, or other similar spells that the enemy casts on the Bard.
* Mosh Pit -
a 10-second 50% increase in movement of all of the Bard's allies. It also removes any spell that impairs the Bard's movements.
From the looks of it, a lot of people are excited to try out the Bard Hero Class. It looks fun, exciting, and totally hilarious. To the creators and jokers at Blizzard Entertainment, all I can say right now is “count me in"!
Do you want to always be one step ahead of everyone else in Wrath of the Lich King, and not be left behind?
