There exists in Northrend, the setting of World of Warcraft's latest expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, a region whose very existence defies explanation. Even in a planet of magic, such as Azeroth, regions like the Sholazar Basin in Northrend are still deemed inexplicable, a true anomaly. The mystery of Sholazar Basin lies in the fact that it is a region that is very similar to a tropical jungle, warm and humid, and teeming with wildlife and vegetation. Although this is not surprising in the least, consider that Sholazar Basin is found in Northrend, a continent covered with ice and snow from tip to tip. Even the few “green" areas of Northrend, such as the Grizzly Hills are still visited by snow occasionally. Such is not the case with the Wrath of the Lich King Sholazar Basin zone. There, it is warm the whole year round, and not even the faint touch of snow has settled in its land.
What made Sholazar Basin the only tropical paradise in a frozen land? What powers has made the area untouchable not only by snow and freezing wind, but also the mark of the Scourge? According to legend, a scholar of the High Elves visited the area in the past. Upon seeing the pylons that protected the vicinity, the scholar surmised that the Wrath of the Lich King Sholazar Basin zone was once a testing ground for the Titans that shaped Azeroth. My tip is to try to get to the Sholzar Basin as soon as possible. There is a big possibility that you can find not only treasure from the Titans themselves there, but also the Titans tools or spells. With power like that in your hands, you'll be invincible! Of course, this is pure speculation for now, but it's possible and definitely worth a try.
Although Sholazar Basin is a piece of heaven in Northrend, it has its share of danger and chaos. The danger doesn't come from outside forces, such as the Undead Scourge, since the Titan pylons protect the region from them. The danger is with the land's geography. The Wrath of the Lich King Sholazar Basin zone is filled with geysers and vents that spew hot air that could melt the skin off of bones of an unsuspecting player. There is also an ongoing war between the Wolvar and the Oracles. The Wolvar are wolverine-like people, while Oracles are evolved Murlocs. You would have a choice which faction you want to ally yourself with. Don't worry, you can change factions anytime.
The Sholazar Basin is not only a place of beauty; it is also a place of danger, rewards, and possible amazing power. So head to Sholazar Basin and explore the region!
Do you want to always be one step ahead of everyone else in Wrath of the Lich King, and not be left behind?
