Yesterday I started a new character, and by tonight I've made about twenty gold, and bought all the best equipment at the Auction House. More importantly than my fancy new wand is that I'm also already stocking some more items to sell in the ah for huge profits.
If you're new to World of Warcraft or re-rolling a new character or starting on a new server some time soon you'll want to make sure you soak this in. It's really easy to start making lots of gold if you know what to buy and when to buy it.
The first thing I do is level as fast as I can, by picking up as many quests as I'm allowed, and completing them all before I come back and turn them in, and sell everything in my bags to the vendors. If you don't have the Quest Helper Addon, make sure you get it as soon as you're done reading this article. It shows you how many quests you have to pick up, and then where they are when you go out. If you're wanting to level fast don't buy a leveling guide just get the free addon.
Next after I've reached about level 10 I'll head to the closest major city. At level 10 you're able to learn your professions, and most importantly you'll have made enough silver to buy two or three recipes from a vendor. I generally buy the first few recipes from the fish vendors for about 3 silver, and then list them in the ah for 78 silver. The next day when I sign on I'll have more than 1.5 gold waiting in my mailbox for me.
Another great way to make money at low levels is signing guild charters. If someone is offering 1g, tell them you'll do it for 2g. 2g makes it worth your while to stop what you're doing and sign a guild charter! Then when the guild is formed, you can /gquit and sign another.
