Xbox 360 Troubleshooting - Three Red Lights Or Red Ring Of Death

Visitors: 168

It appears that the Xbox 360 users are facing unending problems every other day. One thing always flabbergasts me is why Xbox 360 suddenly stops working. None of the error is more aggravating than the red ring of death which immediately cracks down the major hardware. But before you buy a new Xbox 360 console or throw away the older one, it will be beneficial to do some troubleshoot work first.

Some people think it useless to do the unsuccessful troubleshoot work at home, and they prefer to send the troubling inactive console to the Microsoft repair lab at Texas. Although there is a consensus over the issue that the company repair center can undertake such painstaking task, yet I encourage you to tackle the problem yourself at least once.

1 Wrapping an overheated Xbox in towels damages the internal chips in the console board. Though this trick works at some occasions but it is a temporary fix.

2 Never place Xbox in a freezer or outdoor in a cold weather for dropping down its temperature. It lowers the efficiency of certain internal components working at room temperature.

3 If Xbox overheats, switch off the power and restart it after it cools down.

4 If Xbox is not working yet, then check out the cables. Turn off the power, unplug cables from the game console. Switch on the console after attaching all the cables.

5 If your Xbox is still responding in three red lights, then switch off the console and remove the power. Now take out the hard drive, plug in the power cord and switch on the console. If three red lights do not blink now, unplug the power again and attach the hard drive and switch on the power.

6 When you feel your game console is getting too much heat, then turn off the power and allow the system too cool down. Always place your Xbox out of reach of the heat emerging from heat sources.

I am sure you find my troubleshooting tips essential. For more troubleshooting tips and to tackle different system errors yourself get a Xbox repair guide and refurbish your Xbox yourself with the help of illustrated instructions.
