Green Tea Benefits - What Can Green Tea Do For You

Visitors: 240

People have been touting many green tea benefits for years, and for good reason. It is the original super food, with a history of thousands of years behind it. It comes from china, from the camella sinensis plant, or tea plant. Green tea is one of the purest forms of tea; it is minimally processed, harvested while young and tender, and as such, is the source of a wide range of green tea health benefits not found in other teas.

Green tea is most well known for its high antioxidant count. Right up there with blueberries and the newly discovered acai, green tea's benefits include the ability to boost your energy, slow aging by decreasing inflammation, improve brain function, and improve circulation. Antioxidants even may even help fight cancer by combating harmful free radicals.

The primary antioxidant in green tea is EGCG, or epigallocatechin gallate. This polyphenol is one of the most powerful antioxidants yet discovered, and is critical for maintaining a healthy LDL (or “bad" cholesterol) level. This allows the body to break down LDL before blockages can be formed, which can trigger heart attacks and strokes.

Its health benefits do not end there, however. It is also well known to support and even increase your metabolism. This helps you burn calories faster, feel more energetic and lose weight.

The best thing about green tea is the ease with which it can be processed and concentrated to increase its potency and the count of those wonderful antioxidants even more. This increases the benefits of green tea accordingly, and means you have to put in less effort to consume it. Just swallow a pill or drink a shot and you're set.

It benefits people of all ages and health levels. No one has ever found any negative side effects from it in any concentration. That said however, many unscrupulous companies have begun marketing green tea supplements that are not all natural. Some of these filler ingredients may have unwanted side effects as well as taking away from the overall effectiveness and potency of the green tea.

When looking for a green tea supplement, make sure you are getting the real thing. It is important to have ingredients that are all natural and safe. Many people use green tea as a part of their daily supplemental regimen. However, it rarely makes sense to take a separate green tea supplement. When combined with other ingredients such as gingko biloba, the effectiveness of green tea is amplified.

Look for multi-nutrient formulas that include at least 60 or 70 ingredients, including green tea to obtain the most benefit. Any multi-vitamin with only 30 or 40 ingredients is not going to provide your body with what it needs. This formula should be designed to address a wide range of health concerns including:

1. The effects of aging

2. Eye health

3. Cholesterol and circulatory health

4. Brain health

5. The effects of glycation and methylation

6. Bone health

7. Immune system

8. Weight control

Taking a single ingredient only partially addresses some of these issues whereas a multi-nutrient product can provide what your body needs for overall health. My website discusses green tea and many other equally effective ingredients that you should include in your daily routine to maximize the effect of the ingredients as they act synergistically with each other.

Green tea is a powerful way to provide the anti-oxidants that your body needs to fight the effects of free radicals and damage caused by environmental forces. But don't stop there. Look for a multi-nutrient product that includes vitamins, minerals, amino acids, trace elements and herbs. This is the place to begin if you are serious about taking your health to the next level.
