Mother’s Day, Easter Sunday and holiday weekends are some of the more popular times of the year to host a special brunch. Since a typical brunch combines a late breakfast and the lunch period, it is important to satisfy those seeking menu items from either meal time. Of course no Sunday brunch is complete without several types of specialty breakfast breads like filled croissants, brioche and sweet muffins.

Lunch Items with a Twist

For those expecting a heavier meal to carry them through the evening hours, a discerning pallet may be seeking a carving station on a buffet line to get their juices flowing. Prime rib, whole roasted top round or a bone in smoked ham are the typical cuts of meat on these stations. If you are trying to stand out, your menu may be carving a stuffed roast pork loin or a whole roasted goose. Creative items like these will create a buzz within the community and online and if done well will have your Sunday reservations filled for weeks to come. Step out of the box when preparing your vegetables and starch items. Be sure to use colorful blends of vegetables since most people do eat with their eyes. There must be 1001 ways to prepare potatoes and we encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and get crazy with your own style. Make sure you have a pastry expert on your team since this is really the area of your menu that most people will remember. French pastries, dessert mousse and exotic fruit tarts are always memorable for those with a sweet tooth.

A menu for Sunday brunch should be unique and creative while making good use of leftover items if you are offering a buffet.
