The ambience Even as your gaze sweeps the wide open spaces, lush foliage and a lap pool, large red urns beckon you towards the restaurant. This flight of steps could well be your ultimate flight of fantasy!
As you enter the restaurant, the first thing that strikes you is the electric décor in black, red and white. Red carnations float lazily in a stone urn. The tables are a shiny, lacquered black. The chairs are stark white. A single blood red carnation adds a hint of colour to each table.
The outdoor seating area is enclosed in sheer French windows, letting the sunlight pour in, and allowing a view of the ageing trees in the neighbour hood. Tables and chairs alternate in black and sheer acrylic and the ruby red carnations on each table, add the dramatic touch!
Fusion food: This fine dining restaurant boasts of an eclectic mix of cuisines. European flavours with a hint of Oriental spice, is how they describe it. Get set for magnetic menu cards and an exotic water list!
The lunch is buffet style, priced at Rs 900. The salad bar is a heady mix of flavours: Chinese cabbage with black bean ginger dressing, rocket salad with blue cheese and peaches, Teriyaki salad with tofu and sliced mushrooms.
Move onto Asian infused duck which is served with an orange emulsion and crunchy lotus root. The marinated salmon comes with a creamy lemon dressing. Try the mussels with a hint of saffron or the Thai style risotto . They also offer the staid penne, pasta and classic beef burgers for the unadventurous.
Fine dining: Dinner time offers an a la carte choice for the connoisseurs. Take your pick from the crunchy salads with a liberal dose of iceberg lettuce. Tempura sea bass is actually a delicious concoction of jumbo prawns, ginger and beurre blanc.
The duck comes with foie gras and smothered in plum sauce. The crabcakes come with a lime flavoured mayo. The roasted chicken has a delicious smoky flavour, and comes with julienned oyster mushrooms, drenched in miso jus.
Innovative desserts include carrot cake with cream cheese mousse, orange and lime pudding served with golden honey, chocolate cake infused with dates and caramelized sticky rice with coconut jelly!
