Tsawwassen is a town that thrives on diversity: it seamlessly blends the urban and the rural in ways that seem like they shouldn’t work and yet somehow only make the community more endearing. Perhaps it is the heritage of farming and fishing that has given this growing residential community such a spirit of inclusiveness. There is a cohesiveness in Tsawwassen that few other cities can replicate. Individualism is celebrated, but the community as a whole is cherished as well. Can it come as a surprise then that so many people are looking to move there?

Tsawwassen’s spirit of diversity is celebrated in some of its finest restaurants. Residents agree that when it comes to ethnic foods, few communities can compare to the local offerings; for Indian cuisine, local clientele swear by the Connaught Place Restaurant. The food is spicy and authentic, prepared by chefs who use old world recipes that just might leave you panting for another glass of water or wine. Check out their Tandoori chicken in particular - it is the restaurant’s signature dish and it will definitely raise your temperature while also satisfying your appetite for something filling and delicious. When only Cantonese food will do, head on over to the Full House Restaurant. Start with the hot and sour soup as an appetizer before enjoying the stir fried shrimp with vegetables. The seafood is fresh and yummy; the vegetables are too. It would be impossible to leave the Full House Restaurant hungry. The food is so good you’ll want to come back for lunch the next day.

Of course, Tsawwassen is not only known for the diversity of its cuisine. The city is also recognized for the many things there are to do for fun and entertainment. The area boasts an enviable climate, so many of the pastimes people enjoy here happen in the great outdoors. One of the favorites of the residents is golf. Tsawwassen Springs offers not only lovely homes, but also a fun and challenging golf course. Some of the city’s residents choose to join the Beach Grove Golf Club, a private facility with excellent, well maintained fairways and beautiful landscaping. The Club is also a main center of social activity. Membership here often leads to lifelong friendships. Many other private and public courses are dotted throughout the community, meaning there are plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself on the links.

Even if golf isn’t your game there are still plenty of reasons to get out and about in Tsawwassen. Many residents enjoy bird watching and hiking. The town boasts many kilometres of developed trails, many of which run through nature reserves and other beautiful green spaces. In keeping with the city’s ability to blend the urban and the rural, opportunities for horseback riding abound. Many people also enjoy mountain biking and road biking, with the community hosting various events throughout the year. When it’s time for the whole family to get out and play then Splashdown Park, with its thrilling water slides, is the destination of choice. With so many sunny Tsawwassen days, it’s no surprise that the people who live here spend most of their time outdoors.

When a community is surrounded on three sides by water, it is only natural that the residents should love water sports. Most residents own boats of one description or another and the way to spend sunny evenings and weekends is on the water. Some choose to kayak or canoe while others have crafts more akin to a yacht. Either way, the water is clean, clear, and beautiful. Love to fish? Then Tsawwassen is also the place for you! Whether you fish from the shore or a boat, you’ll always have a good day fishing in these gorgeous Pacific waters.

Tsawwassen is a true paradise for people who love the outdoors, but it’s also a great place for people with an interest in history and culture. Local arts groups keep the theater scene alive, and there is no shortage of live music and art galleries for everyone’s taste, from the classical to the cutting edge. Take a class at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre and become a member of the Delta Arts Council - it’s a great way to get involved in the community after purchasing Tsawwassen real estate .

Tsawassen has plenty to offer people of every kind and description. Whether you love ethic food or comfort food, catching a wave or catching a concert, it’s the town that has it all. Tsawwassen welcomes the individual and celebrates the unique. It’s a city that successfully juxtaposes the old with new, the country with the city. That’s just a small part of what makes this a great community to call home.
