How To Effectively Cook A Japanese Steak

Visitors: 206

In Japan, land and grain can be very expensive. Because of this, cattle ranches are scarce, making steak a highly prized delicacy. The only time that people would buy beef is when there is a special occasion. One of the most popular Japanese dishes across the globe is beef teriyaki. What makes it special is that Japanese chefs cut the tender steak into a number of very thin slices and then marinate it in a mixture of sake, a bit of soy sauce, sugar, mirin and some Japanese wine. Today we will share some cooking skills to make delicious beef.

Below are the steps for cooking the Japanese steak:

Step 1: Prepare the seasoning. Stir the sake, the soy sauce and brown sugar in a bowl. You can also add some minced garlic and ginger to add more flavor to it.

Step 2: Slice the tender steak into thin slices. Make sure to cut across the grain. This will make it easier for the beef to cook and to absorb the flavor once you mix the flavors with it.

Step 3: Put the sliced beef into a marinade bowl then stir it a number of times so that the marinade is evenly distributed. Once you are done stirring it, let the steak marinate inside the refrigerator for one to eight hours. Take note that it would be more advisable to leave it as it is for eight hours so that it will absorb more flavors, which in turn will make it more delicious.

Step 4: Gather and pile the charcoals before you light them. Once they are lit, keep them burning for at least 20 minutes or until the briquettes are already covered with ash. Make sure that you spread the charcoals evenly so that the heat is distributed to each part of the grill when you start grilling the meat. However, if you are using a gas grill instead, make sure to heat it for 10 minutes while the hood is closed so that the grill will heat up faster.

Step 5: The next step is to stick bamboo skewers through the slices of steak. Make sure to place the skewers over the hottest part of the grill. Once you do, broil them for around 30 to 60 seconds before transferring them to a plate. Make sure to cover them so that they will not get cold.

These details will help you to cook Janpanese steaks. If you want to experience a delicious beef teriyaki, make sure that you purchase the authentic Kobe steaks since it is one of the most luscious meats available. If you are interested in enjoying your own teriyaki but worried about getting a reasonable deal, then you can go check steaks for sale online .
