Shop Your Local Specialty Tea Shop for Variety

Visitors: 218

Perhaps the best way to get started with a new tea drinking habit is by making a trip to your local specialty tea store. Browsing about such shops and smelling the aromas is enough to make anyone want to learn about the seemingly endless varieties of tea available to today's consumer. Of course most of us have heard of the major types of Chinese tea including green, black, white and oolong. There is a mountain of information available on all these types of tea and all of them promote significant health and wellness benefits. The reasons to develop a liking for tea are many and drinking tea continues to be encouraged by many health experts.

The specialty shop visit is a good idea for the new tea drinker because the initial taste of tea may not compare favorably with a soda or juice, for example. Offerings typical at most grocery stores usually include just a few basic types of tea for people who already like and drink tea. However, when shopping through a wide selection of teas, many will appeal to almost anyone and several of the flavors available are sure to please those new to the world of tea. Even with the traditional tea types the flavor variations are nearly unlimited. Choices such as berry, citrus, fruit and spice are common additions to traditional Chinese tea. Floral and herbal are other types of teas considered a specialty and there are countless others as well.

Teas are even coordinated for specific seasons with varieties that feature flavors particular to a holiday season. The most difficult part of visiting a tea shop may be limiting the number of flavors to try at one time. Specialty items in general can get very expensive and tea is no exception. Decide to try two or three varieties to start or even see if there is a sampler basket available. Many times there will be teas grouped together for a single purchase price since many people give such assortments of tea as gifts. Whatever items you choose, be sure to enjoy your specialty tea and experiment often to find new favorites.
