While there are literally thousand upon thousand of Financial Websites specialising in the UK market, there are only really a handful of main ones to consider. The sites themselves tend to cover all aspects of finance including, stocks and share, loans, savings, credit cards and much more. If there is a financial instrument you are after, they will have it!
While the main consumer led sites do not actually offer products themselves, they are a window for the major providers, who reward the sites with commission for every sale completed. The array of information is amazing and they will be able to find a product for any occasion, whether it be a car loan, mortgage, credit card or even a stockbroker. The main sites to consider are :-
This is one of the most popular finance sites specialising in the UK market. As well as offering your normal loan, savings and mortgage information the site also has regular reviews of new products on the market.
The also offer information about life insurance, pensions, property and spread betting to name a few. Originally the site began as a basic finance website, offering detailed information on loans, etc although they have more than kept pace with changes in the market, new areas of investment and the explosion in new products.
One of the better sites around and worth bookmarking.
This site is a little different to iii.co.uk in that it offers an insight into more general finance matters, including holidays, utility bills, shopping and broadband as well as the obvious loan, credit cards etc.
The design of the site is also different form iii.co.uk, which can look a little cluttered at first glance, against the more structured approach taken by money supermarket. A nicely designed site, offering a little broader range than iii, but not as much detail.
In summary, big on subject but not so much on substance. Never the less, a nice site to bookmark.
While these sites are very good if you are looking for any type of financial comparisons, detail, etc they are by no means the only ones available. There are smaller specialised sites which may offer more detail on a tighter subject range, but in general you will not go far wrong with the two sites listed above.
However, the fact remains that you need to understand what you are signing before taking on any financial agreements. But the more advice and information to hand, the better.
