AsRock have produced some of the best motherboard for years such the Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 yet somehow, they stay on the sideline due to a bit less exposure. It's a major comeback for them providing the all new AsRock Z77 Extreme4 that ensures a high level performing motherboard at a very appealing price.

AsRock has been in the motherboard business for years and gain people trust due to their outstanding performance. That being said, they broght it to the masses at a very low price with the best quality to compete with the big players out there.

Features and performance wise, the board brings more on the table that is capable to be competitive with other extremely high priced brand. The board looks awesome in all black color design with gray trim on the heatsinks that adds to its coolness.

More Features

The board features an 8+4 Digi Power Design that will move hard your unlock Ivy Bridge processor. It supports the Intel Smart Response Technology for faster data access. An additional SSD is able to run as a cache in tandem with larger HDD that operates four times faster than HDD only system.

The AsRock Z77 Extreme4 offers the UEFI BIOS in a simple mouse driven Graphical user interface that eliminates the trouble in using the traditional keyboard controls. The primary feature here is the Extreme Tuning Utility which is the all-in-one software that is use to control the hardware monitor, fan speed, overclocking, OC DNA, Intelligent Energy Saver and the XFast RAM.

There's more features the ASRock motherboard to offer such as the Instant Boot, Instant Flash, APP Charger, SmartView, XFast USB, XFast LAN and the Crashless BIOS. The No-K technology has a capability to overclock your ordinary non K processor.

Overclocking The ASRock Z77 Extreme4

Overclocking this board is easy; you can simply increase the multiplier to your desired speed while leaving the base clock at 100MHz. If you might want to attain a 4.2GHz OC frequency simply set the multiplier to x42 and the base clock remains at 100MHz.

The maximum achievable frequency is at 4.8GHz (100MHz x 48) and slightly pressing up the voltage at 1.38v. Unfortunately, the 5GHz mark fails to reach because the temperature increases unbearably and eventually settle down to 4.8GHz for good stability.

The Verdict

I can say without hesitation that the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 is an outstanding motherboard. Not only on its performance will make you a winner but then, also in its very attractive physical image. If that's what you're searching for, you completely got it.

The board is presently reachable for only $127 which is an absolute bargain, yet somehow don't let the price fool you, performance and feature wise it can compete entirely against any highly cost products out there such as ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI. If you're in a tight budget or even you're not, go buy it.
