When we set system up for regular use, how many of us even cares about what junk files actually are, how many errors have crept into the registry, how to clean and optimize the system so that it might be tuned for better performance ? Actually when we speak about the term registry few of us know about a few tricks using a system application named regedit, or disabling startup applications automatically using msconfig etc… Most of us don’t even know that cleaning junk and temporary saved installation files along with correction of the registry errors leads to 25% - 30% increase in the speed of the system. When we install an application including the operating system itself and use it for more than few weeks, Registry errors ranging from 120 to 350 might creep into the registry set thus leading to future problems. These problems even might give rise to the nightmare of all Windows Operating Systems named as Blue Screen of Death. The Blue Screen of Death could come from a number of sources.

First, the user should check his or her BIOS settings to see if S. M. A.

R. T drive reporting is enabled. If it is, the user should disable it and give it a test run of 2-3 days under a regular rebooting cycle to see if the error persists. S. M. A.

R. T. (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) is a somewhat outdated standard developed as an “early warning" system to detect hard disk issues.

If user desktop is newer, it may not even be available as an option as it is not widely used these days. The SMART technology while useful under certain circumstances had an extremely wide margin of error and would throw errors on boot occasionally when there would be nothing from either a physical or configuration standpoint failing. Users face various Partition related issues often which can even be serious sometimes.

In such scenarios getting back the data and making the system up and running is what the user is generally concerned about the most. A logical recovery is where there is damage to the file system, or partition table and the data becomes inaccessible. This can be caused by an accidental format, electrical issues, viruses, etc.

In some cases physical issues with the drive can also cause this problem, especially if the drive has weak or degrading read/write heads. A logical recovery can typically be performed without having to make any repairs to the drive. Physical recoveries can be priced very high.

In order to save the system from the above mentioned problems that can make the living life a hell, we must remember to tune up pc more often. Now the computer tune up can even be scheduled based on the times and amount of usage the computer is subjected to. A proper PC tune up software might be chosen so that the work becomes even easier. After proper tune up all the above mentioned problems tends to disappear and people may use their personal computers personally again.
