Make Your Satellite TV Your Main Music Player

Visitors: 209

Feeling blue because you were hoping to get a new stereo for Christmas, but it just did not fit your tight budget this year? The economic crisis should not discourage us, it should just make us more creative! Sure maybe you wanted big, slick new stereo equipment this year, but you don't need it to enjoy great music with top sound quality. Instead, use your television set!

Satellite TV provides dozens of music and radio stations. Too few people take advantage of this great resource. The music stations are completely commercial free, so right there you've gotten rid of the worst part of regular radio. You can choose music from a wide variety of music covering different genres, decades and world beats. Whether you like heavy metal, spicy salsa, or soft rock, you are bound to find music that suits your taste. Next time you are lounging on the couch and flipping through your magazine in a silent room, think of how easy it is just to turn on the set and find some good tunes.

If you have invested in good speakers for your TV - maybe you could not resist the surround sound to complement your high definition television - keep on using them for music. It's just common sense. Speakers come in all shapes and sizes, so shop around and make sure you have the ones you want. If you are savvy at rigging the wires, speakers can even be placed in other room, so your TV-turned-stereo can liven up the whole house.

Since virtually every DVD player has the capacity to play CDs, you don't even need separate equipment to play your CDs. Some players even have multi-disc players that will rotate through your CDs in the order you choose. Put on your favorite albums to surround sound and start jamming. Or maybe you are way over CDs and have condensed your music library into mp3s on your computer. The good news is that these days lots of iPods and other music devices can be connected to your TV with a cable; once again, you can have a dance party with your awesome TV speakers while grooving to your own play lists.

Satellite TV is a great way to get radio news and sports, as well. With dozens of different channels (and, again, no commercial breaks) there will always be something interesting on. Get international news or have on a sports station in the background. There is nothing like doing push-ups and sit-ups on your living room floor to the excited chattering of a Spanish soccer commentator. Some package options may also include foreign news stations, in case you are addicted to BBC news are or trying to brush up on your French.

So don't get down, get pumped! If you've got satellite TV and a DVD player, then you already have a great radio and CD stereo! Enjoy the ad-free music stations or get a cable for plugging in your iPod for even more options. You've already made the investment in the television set, so put it to good use and start rocking out.
