A free reverse cell phone lookup seems to be all the rage these days. The big question that everyone is asking though is can you use the new phone book feature implemented by Google to trace cell phone numbers.
Search engines have always proven to be extremely useful when trying to find or locate any type of information including the owner of any type of phone number. Now, what is important to understand is that Cell numbers are a tougher nut to crack than the run of the mill home phone number that you might try to investigate. This is due largely to the steps that the telecommunication companies have taken to ensure their subscribers privacy. To date there is still no openly available listing or directory or cell numbers in existence.
There are however ways to circumvent this and still find the information that you want and need. One way to do this is to use the phone book feature that Google has made available to the public. Basically, the way this works is, you simply search for a number in the following way:
Above, I have listed a couple of different formats that a number can be searched with. There are many more combinations that you can search for any particular number with. Knowing this, you will have to use your imagination a little bit to ensure that your search is complete and accurate.
Now, it is time for the bad news.
While this method and the new feature that Google has released is very useful in tracing numbers it will not always work with a cell phone number.
The only way you will get a “hit" on the number you are trying to investigate is if the owner of that number has entered their phone number into some type of form online for either business or personal reasons. If they have never used the number online for anything, chances are you will come up with no results and will be no closer to being able to trace cell phone numbers than when you started.
The good news is, there are directories online that make it fairly easy to find the owner of any cell phone number by simply searching through their database. This is often done by one click of a button and you are given results in a matter of a minute or two.
Unfortunately, this is not a free reverse cell phone lookup though. In order to get the results you are often required to pay a nominal fee. I say nominal because the fee they charge is often small in nature and is something that just about anyone can afford. At the end of the day, if doing a reverse search on a cell number is something you are just doing for fun, stick to the free method and if you do not get any results you can leave it at that. However, if you really need results and need them fast, an established reverse cell phone directory might be something worth looking at.
