Breast Cancer Awareness Helps Taking Good Care Of Breast

Breast cancer awareness is one of the most crucial things for women of the present world as breast cancer has become one of the leading causes to kill a number of women each year. It is just the understanding of breasts so that abnormal changes can be detected as they take place otherwise they can become the reason of serious health issues. As breast cancer affects the women in every corner of the world so there must be a method to prevent this disease, however many studies have been conducted to fulfill this purpose but no such way has been introduced yet so it is advised to women that stay in touch with breasts on regular basis to be breast aware.
Breast awareness not only helps in understanding the breast structure, but also helps in early detection of breast cancer on primary stage when it is easier to treat and control.

Unusual breast changes can lead to the development of breast cancer so they must be observed at initial stage and for this reason women should have adequate knowledge about the abnormal changes so that to distinguish the changes become easier during breast examination and they may not lead to the serious health conditions. Unusual changes are given below
Changes in the size and shape of breasts are unusual and they can be due to breast cancer, however not necessarily all changes in the shape or size are cancer related as they can be due to some other reasons as well like the changes in size can be due to periods, pregnancy and breastfeeding although these changes are temporary.

  • Changes in the position of nipple can be due to breast abnormalities like nipples become inverted or scaly and these changes must not be overlooked in any condition.
  • Skin changes like dimpling and puckering can be due to breast cancer.
  • Fluid discharge of any color like bloody, yellowish or fluid of green color is abnormal and it should not be ignored because it can be the indication of cancer or can be the sign of breast cancer.
  • Swelling in the breast including areola or in the armpit is abnormal and can be the symptom of breast cancer so it should not be taken as the normal change of breasts as some women feel their breasts swollen and lumpy before periods that is common in most of the women and is normal but if a specific part is swollen it should be checked by the doctor immediately.
  • Breast pain is not very common symptom of breast cancer , but some of the women experience persistent change that does not go away after medication.
  • Lumps are categorized as benign and cancerous lumps so if a woman observes any lump in the breast or the armpit it should be checked immediately be the doctor so that it can be confirmed that whether the lump is benign or cancerous.
