Chapman Freeborn broaden its scope in South America by opening new commercial presentation

Visitors: 342

Chapman Freeborn Airchartering is happy to announce the further extension of its operations in South America with the inauguration of commercial representation in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The leading air charter service company's new location is located in the offices of our partner Air World Travel (AWT) - the biggest passenger representation airline network in Latin America, focused on customer relations and the growth of the commercial airline sector.

Chapman Freeborn's step into the Argentinian market comes after the prosperous establishment of an office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2008 - making it the first international charter company to found an operation in South America.

The new Buenos Aires office will be directed by business development director Nicolas Caleri, who will administer cargo charter operations and the progress of the company's on board courier (OBC) services for time-sensitive shipments.

Nicolas, or “Nico" as he is well known to suppliers and costumers, has nearly a decade of experience in the air cargo industry and returns to his native Argentina after a successful period working for Chapman Freeborn in Spain.

Working in cooperation with the company's team in Brazil & the US hub in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Nico will apply his local market expertise to take aim at further expansion in Argentina and the Southern Cone countries of Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

He commented:

"We have been working with charter clients in Argentina for a number of years and in response to increased demand the time was right for us underline our commitment to this growing market. Developing new markets and a focus on building close personal relationships with local clients and airline suppliers is something Chapman Freeborn has done successfully for the last 40 years. “

No time wasted in the international arena

Chapman Freeborn's newly-launched team in Argentina is already handling its first cargo charter operations - from shipments of high-tech equipment to broad livestock movements.

One charter had to fly urgent printing calibration equipment from Germany to Argentina for an Argentinian-based client. The 75 ton consignment came from various different places in Germany and, once secured, was taken to Buenos Aires on a B747 freighter.

The same aircraft was then utilized for a high-profile charter to transport safely 100 polo ponies from Buenos Aires to Nigeria for a sporting event.

The ponies were eased into the aircraft and put in secure stalls for the trip - and attended by grooms and vets to further ensure their safety and well-being.

The welfare of animals is of primary importance during flight operations of this scale and Chapman Freeborn has organized similar movements around the globe - from large-scale cattle movements in Central Asia to the transportation of 73 showjumping horses to the Middle East.
