How about ash doors for boilers and pump body & pump casing in China?

Visitors: 298

Introducing the boiler ash doors and Pump Body and Pump Casing from Dandong Foundry in China. Including the suitable materials, casting processes and requirements.

The ask door is similar with boiler door, furnace door or stove door. Total weight for ash door assembly was about 60kg. Materials include cast iron with Cr. 1% and cast steel. The whole assembly include ash door, door frame, handle lock, cover inspection hole, pin, screw, gasket and bolts.

Dandong Foundry has made many ash doors for the boiler and furnace manufacturers worldwide. It was not difficult for the rough castings and machining. However, you have to keep the good surface quality and good dimensions for installation. The suitable casting process was resin sand casting, however, some parts were small, so green sand casting process will be necessary. Therefore, the foundry should have very fine green sand to make the small parts.

As for the patterns, Dandong Foundry suggested to use the resin patterns, which has good lifetime, and lower costs than metal patterns.

Pump body is also known as pump casing, pump shell. Water pump body is usually made by gray iron (grey iron) HT200 (ASTM NO.30, GG20, ISO200, FC200, GC200). We called it HT200 in Chinese standard.

Our foundry has made many types of pump bodies for water pumps manufacturers in Korea and USA. For the suitable casting process, we suggest to use the green sand for the outside surface, and use precoated resin sand for the inside surface. This process can keep the good inside surface and quality, and will keep the costs as low as possible.

Usually, the water pressure testing will be necessary for the pump casing, but the pressure testing only is a inspection method, the basic way to reach their requirements is to improve the casting quality. Good foundry, suitable casting process, strict quality control are the good guarantee.

As for the patterns, we suggest to use resin patterns for small production volume, and use the metal patterns for the large production volume.
