In an attempt to find nurses, many new or existing healthcare staffing agencies stop short of using effective methods to acquire much needed candidates to fill shifts, especially when those shifts need to be filled at times in a moments notice.
Lets face it, the medical staffing industry often survives on the idea that you should be ready to fill a shift 24 hours a day, well! At least that is what hospitals wish you could do, but the reality of it is, we are always struggling to find nurses to fill shifts.

The only problem with these techniques is they cost money, often money is the one thing a new staffing agency does not have an abundance of. So, with that said, I have used and found this next method to be the one best source for finding new recruits.
Word of Mouth Marketing
Word of mouth marketing is a technique that makes everybody in your team, employees, friends and family talk about your company. You basically hire a small force to promote your company. How do you do that? Well, you offer incentives to nurses to talk to other nurses for you. You promise the referring nurses 6 months of free gasoline if they refer someone full time. You can also offer such things as a plasma TV, , a Vacation trip, etc.
I have found that offering people money is great, but offering them a tangible product often elicits a different response. Try it once and see what I mean, try it today, offer a nurse a 52’ Plasma TV if they refer you a nurse that works at least ten days with you. I bet it will work. Have fun with it and begin recruiting like mad.
