Billions of pounds are spent on Corporate Events in the UK each year – unfortunately, many of them suffer from poor planning or unsatisfactory venues. The majority take place at hotels or conference centres, where you would expect a lot of the hard work to be done for you but unfortunately, this is often not the case. Too often, the event company is left to plan things themselves – which can lead to problems in an already overbooked schedule.

The problem is that corporation events demand a great deal of flexibility that is often not possible. A swish spa hotel may be perfect for showing your affiliates how much you appreciate their enterprise, for example – but will it stand up to scrutiny when it comes to IT provision, or a continuous supply of fresh coffee? Alternatively, booking a conference centre may give you everything you need in the way of business facilities and trade stand set-up, but leave you looking for accommodation elsewhere.

What you want, is a venue that has everything you need for your events in one place, and can cater for a wide variety of activities for a corporate company or otherwise. If you find one you are happy with, you are likely to use it regularly, so it is left to the managers of corporate venues to make sure their staff and facilities are as efficient and well-equipped for events as possible. A case in point is our Dedicated Holiday Inn Meetings service, where every aspect of the event is taken care of by a personal host who is there at all times. It’s a proven, matter-of-fact concept that works – yet it seems unique to us.

So, what should you be looking for in a corporate event venue? This may largely depend on the event being planned. For example, a large corporate seminar with a targeted audience will require staging and seating for, possibly, several hundred people. If it is taking place over a period of time, catering and accommodation will be a necessity.

Trade shows, however, take a different approach. Here, you will need a large empty floor space and, probably, smaller rooms for seminars and workshops. On the other hand, an annual in-house event, such as a Christmas Party or a golfing weekend, needs a totally different approach.

Team-building and training exercises are popular options, yet they often fall down owing to mismanagement and lack of planning by the venue hosts.

Holiday Inn Meetings offer all this and more. With over 120 venues to choose from we are the ideal choice for staging corporate events. Our unique Dedicated Host service ensures that every little detail is taken care of, from set-up to take-down. This includes catering arrangements, equipment provision and sound and lighting hire. In addition we can arrange specialised services like room dressing and guest speakers.

At Holiday Inn, we have both theatre style and banquet style facilities, as well as smaller rooms for training and workshop activities. Depending on the venue, we can also arrange motivation days and team-building exercises. These range from golf weekends and spa breaks, to paint-balling and assault-course training.

Whatever the event you’ve got planned, we have everything you need for it to run like clockwork, with the minimum disruption to your daily schedule.
