If you know how to use a computer then you can make money from teaching those who don't. There are so many people out there who do not know how to use a computer for anything, and would love to learn. They know how much a computer can bring into their lives – convenience, privacy, ability to do things they cannot otherwise, ability to look something up when they want to, less travel time and expense for shopping, and so much more. Nearly everyone wants to learn how to use a computer and you can profit by teaching them.
Profiting from Computer Classes –
There are many ways to profit from teaching people how to use computers. You can have a variety of personal classes available, such as:
- Beginner’s class on how to use a computer
- Learn the basics of how to use a computer
- Learn how to use Microsoft Word
- Learn how to use Microsoft Excel
- Learn how to use Microsoft Access
- Learn how to use Microsoft PowerPoint
- Learn how to use the Internet
- Learn how to protect your computer from viruses, worms and hackers
- Learn how to use search engines
- Learn how to Microsoft FrontPage
- Learn how to create your own website
- Learn how to use Adobe Photoshop
That is just a small list of the knowledge you can offer your students. Some people want to learn how to use a particular program, and you can offer this knowledge in small classes. You will need the space and equipment to teach these computer classes. You could ask your local library if they would allow you to hold computer classes there (they will have the equipment you need, too), you could ask local businesses if you could use their space to teach, or (if they have enough room) you could teach the classes in your home. If you wanted to teach a one on one class you could offer to come to the student’s home to help them learn how to use their computer.
Marketing Your Computer Classes and Tutorials –
Marketing can take some time, but first you will need the proper marketing tools such as business cards, flyers, and anything else you can think of. You should also have a website for your computer teaching business so you can market online as well.
Put up flyers in your local area in businesses and public places. Ask if you can put up business cards and flyers at any local teaching establishments, such as colleges and universities. Hot topics would be using the Internet, word processing and photo editing as outlined above. You can charge up to £15 an hour for this and teach in your home or their home!
You can also get certified in specific computer programs and computer uses. This will help potential students feel more comfortable in giving you money to learn from your computer classes. When you have certifications you can charge more per hour. You can use this as a small business, or just for some extra cash.
