A Book Review on the E-book Grayrider by Bruce Skye

Visitors: 378

Grayrider offers the reader everything they could need in a story. There is romance, sword fights, magic, and more to keep the reader entertained. The story line moves at a fast pace and keeps the reader very involved. I found that I could not put the book down.

Grayrider follows the story of Gabriel. His parents were murdered. He then vows to seek revenge on the person responsible for his parents deaths. Since his father was the king of their land, Gabriel now has to fill that role. He is very torn about this. He wanted nothing more than to be a commoner. He had lost love in his life because he was royalty.

Gabriel has a sword called Deathsong. The sword has magical powers. However, when Gabriel draws the sword he must kill someone, or he has to die. Everyone in surrounding towns knows the legends of Deathsong and the Grayrider. He also has a horse Windfire that has special abilities.

Gabriel is asked to help the kingdom of Boadhagh by his good friend King Airell. The king refers to him as the son he never had. Boadhagh is going to be attacked by an evil sorceress named Morrigan. Morrigan possessed all types of magical powers that she used to take control over people. She would then make the people fight in her army.

Gabriel was out venturing around to see what he could learn about the people threatening Boadhagh, when he discovered the kings long lost daughter Deirdre. It turns out she had been on her way to warn her father of the danger approaching. She had been training with Morrigan. She had been learning how to use the magical abilities she possessed. When she learned of Morrigans plan to attack her father's kingdom she escaped.

Gabriel and Deirdre decided they would help each other protect King Airell's land. They each had special skills that could benefit the other. While helping each other they found themselves falling in love. Grayrider will keep you turning the pages. I never once found myself bored by the E-book.

Grayrider is part one of the Death Song Chronicles. If the rest of the books are anything like this one, they are surely going to be a huge hit. While this book is fantasy it could be enjoyed by everyone even if they usually do not enjoy this genre.
