Lit Motors and YourMechanic: Two of the most innovative start-ups in the car industry

Visitors: 258

Everyone that is involved with the car industry in any way or is simply a car enthusiast must be well aware that the auto industry world is going through radical changes. Most of them are related to development of new green technologies and implementing them in vehicles, making them more fuel efficient and less harmful for the environment and reducing emissions. However, there are also some other aspects concerning cars and everything that has to do with them. For example, we are able to witness a lot of innovations in the car repair services, too.

Two prime examples of innovative companies in the car industry sector are electric vehicle manufacturer Lit Motors and the car repair service YourMechanic.

Considering that both Lit Motors and YourMechanic are pretty innovative start-up companies, it's no wonder that they were able to compete for the TechCrunch Disrupt SF award this year. The judges had a tough time deciding on who should win it, because both of them were among the favorites, but YourMechanic came out on the top in the end, and Lit Motors came in second. TechCrunch is a website that reviews start-ups and provides news concerning everything related to innovative technology. It holds a series of events in honor of start-up companies, such as the Disrupt Conference, where companies can compete against each other, presenting some of their inventions and win awards and prizes and get their ideas promoted to a wider audience.

Lit Motors is a company that is trying to lead the way for creating fully electric vehicles on two wheels. They've put hundreds of thousands of dollars into developing and designing their C-1 motorcycle concept, which is an enclosed, self-balancing two-wheeler that can be driven in any kind of weather.

On the other hand, YourMechanic is a company that is looking to do a complete overhaul to the car repair industry. They could make car shops obsolete, offering to fix your car where ever you want, as long as the location is safe enough and suitable for repairing vehicles. You can contact them with your cell phone via a special mobile application, and it will cost you a lot less than taking your car to a regular car shop.
