Top 10 Places to Visit in the Washington

Washington is a historical place; there are many places in Washington, DC that you cannot see it all in just one visit. A well-formed trip will be helpful to explore the Washington, DC. It is a great place to explore the popular attractions in the region. With so many choices of things to do in the region, here are my top suggestions for peoples of all ages to visit top 10 places in the Washington.

  1. Visit the Smithsonian
  2. The federal institute has many museums spread throughout Washington, DC. Ten of the buildings are situated on the National Mall from 3rd to 14th Streets between Constitution and Independence Avenues, within a radius of about one mile. Start at the Smithsonian Institution Building where you can select a map and information on all of the museums. There is much more to see at the Smithsonian that you can not see it all in one visit. IMAX movies are especially well-liked to see.

  3. Bureau of Engraving & Printing
  4. Everyone loves to watch real money and wants to see how U. S. paper currency is printed, stacked, cut and examined for defects.

  5. The National Mall
  6. The National Mall is not just a grand place to visit our world class museums and national landmarks, but also a gathering place to picnic and attend outdoor festivals. Americans and visitors from all over the world have used the expansive lawn as a site for protests and rallies. The truly spectacular architecture and natural beauty of the National Mall make it a unique place that celebrates and preserves our nation's history and democracy.
    The best time to see them is at night when they are illuminated, less crowded and parking is easier.

  7. Tour the Three Houses of Government
  8. To visit the U. S. Capitol Building, the White House and the U. S. Supreme Court and you will get a full understanding of the division of power within our democratic government.

  9. Take a Walk through Georgetown
  10. Georgetown is the capital's historic sea front that today is hustle and bustle with activity. The area is a shopper's paradise and the streets are full with restaurants of every nationality. Take a tour of historic sites, make some shopping and enjoy a feast at a local restaurant.

  11. Washington Monument
  12. To visit the top elevator of the memorial George Washington, America's first president, and see a wonderful view of Washington DC. It is very much pleasant to see the city from a bird's eye view.

  13. See a Show or Concert at the Kennedy Center
  14. You can see liveve theatrical concerts at the John F. Kennedy Center. Performing Arts are entertainment at its finest. Purchase tickets in advance for performances ranging from musicals to concerts by the National Symphony or see a free show at the Millennium Stage. Listen to all types of music at the Kennedy Center, dedicated to the performing arts.

  15. Take a Hike at Great Falls Park
  16. To make a picnic plan and enjoy spectacular views of the Potomac River at this 800 acre park, situated just 14 miles from Washington DC.

  17. Explore Mount Vernon
  18. With the addition of the new museum and education center, Mount Vernon is now a full day pleasure trip. Discover the state of the art galleries and theaters, visit the 500-acre estate of George Washington and his family, tour the 14-room mansion that is beautifully restored and furnished with original objects dating back to the 1740's.
