The Power And The Glory

It's time to strike the ark and pound the metal, your ready to build your muscle car, excitement is coursing through your veins, giddiness in your muscles, your heart is pounding, and your new muscle car sits in front of you begging for your love and attention, down on all fours, it says please fix me, give me back my pride, return me to my previous glory, make me the road roasting, pavement burning, ear drum cracking bad boy that I once was, and who are you to say no, how could you do such a thing.

As you sit a and think about how you can achieve this huge task before you, you realize that many people have come before you with the same feelings for this car, and none of them have ever done it, so now your thinking why did these people give up on this car, this is the absolute perfect car, it's the best car ever built in my opinion, and I'll be proud to drive it, when I unveil the finished product it will amaze people, they will gather around it, and love it the same way that I do, they will want to go for a ride in it, and know it's power and glory.

When I brought the car home, you should have heard the comments out of my wife's mouth, the very first this that spewed from her unknowing mouth was, what a piece of crap, why did you spend your hard earned money on the thing, why would you do that, I told her, I love this car, and I'm going to restore it, and you'll be sorry the day you said that about my awesome muscle car, this car is everything that I've ever wanted in a car, it's the perfect ride for me, I out the car in the garage, and begun to plan what I was going to do to restore it.

Did I want a hot rod, or a factory perfect restoration, this of course took a while for me to weigh out, I had of course decided make a custom driver out of the car, so it won't spend it's entire life in the garage waiting for the next show, I planed what I would do to make all this happen, and I planed how long it would take for me to finish the restoration, I made a list of the parts that I would need, and began to order them, I got my old parts storage system together, I realized that this is not an overnight job, and the car will be torn down for a while.

In the end, all the time, money, and effort will come to culmination and I will pull out of my garage in my car, I will drive it down the road, and feel like god behind the wheel of it, with a smile from ear to ear, and pride pouring out of every part of my soul, knowing that I have brought this perfect thig back to life.

I've been in the automotive business for about 20 or 25 years, I have worked in all facets of the industry, from parts to restoration, all different makes and models, I just want to keep people interested in the old cars because it's where my heart is.
