Learn To Play The Piano At Home - Tips That Make You A Better Pianist

Visitors: 176

There could be a thousand reasons why you want to learn to play the piano at home. You may be aspiring to perform in front of a crowd or you just want to play better so you could entertain your relative while passing time.

Regardless of your aim, to learn to play the piano at home is certainly one of the best goals you could set your sights on.

Why?

You'll never run out of pieces to play. . . which means unlimited opportunities to keep you and your friends entertained and busy.

It keeps your brain active and develops good finger coordination and dexterity.

And it makes you look and feel classy and proud. After all, not a lot of individuals can play those ivories really well.

So how can you learn to play the piano at home?

Here are some tips that would help:

- Practice everyday. Flexing those fingers for 10-20 minutes a day is a lot better than practicing one hour every week.

- Surround yourself with supportive people. The path to playing the piano better can be daunting, and nothing's more motivating than having your friends and family near you, ready to say: “Keep it up. . . you're on your way there".

- Take your time. Rushing to learn to play the piano at home can lead to a lot of mistakes. It's really demoralizing to see yourself miss one note after another so you better slow down and keep those mistakes to a minimum.

- Be optimistic and realistic. If you constantly dabble on negativity while on practice, it'll be a self-fulfilling prophecy. . . you'll flunk it! Remain a positive outlook and be confident. Don't over do it, though, to the point that you'd be unrealistic and aim to be a Beethoven in a couple of months. You're setting yourself for a huge disappointment by doing so.

There are new ways to learn to play the piano. You could hire a local instructor, buy DVD's, and there are excellent online lessons for those who would like to learn to play the piano at home on their own pace.

Wrap your head around it and see which options suit you best.
