Salem, Massachusetts is an incredibly historic town. The Captain West House was built in 1834, the Curwin House was built in 1854 and the newest building, the Peabody House, was built in 1874. The outer facades of the buildings are not very elaborate, but the insides of each home are outfitted with beautiful Victorian furnishings.

Many of the rooms feature whirlpools (Jacuzzis), as well as fireplaces and other Victorian touches like lace curtains and baroque wallpaper. A complimentary breakfast is served each morning, with continental offerings like bagels and danish, as well as quiche. There is no restaurant on premises, so no other meals are served at the Inn. Many restaurants are within walking distance, however. The romance packages here at the Salem Inn include champagne, roses, chocolates, Salem Inn toasting flutes, and a stay in one of the honeymoon suites.
