Rising middle and higher school participation is a driving force behind the demand for stationary products. This has greater impact on Asian markets which are subject to this phemona. The vast array of products include desk top accessories, note books, calenders, exercise copies, covers, pads and of course subject books. Rising economy leads to increase in business and office stationary. The impact is direct thanks to greater buying capacity. Ever growing urbanization in many third world countries is also contribution to increased demands. Lifestyle changes encourage social engagements and propel people to buy more and more greeting cards. The category is expanded whence we inclide wedding, birthday, party invitations and envelopes all using printed paper. Innovation leads to more appealing products enticing people to buy more.

Albeit Internet has reduced paper consumption but the limitations have been restricted to communication only. The impact of electronic communication has lowered the consumption especially that of paper products. But the development of niche market has brought back in balance the lowere consumption. Hence two billion USD plus projection for this industry stands vindicated. It can be said with certainty that the industry has become more sophisticated with latest innovations and technical developments.
