What Is Beef Jerky Good For?

Visitors: 1,396

When most men think of Beef Jerky, they think of cowboys or truck drivers. A lot of western movies used to show cowboys eating beef jerky out on the trail.

When women think of Beef Jerky, they . . . well, they usually don't think of it at all, which is sad.

Here's some things to consider about beef jerky:

- It's healthy
- It's very nutritious
- It's high in protean
- It's low in fat
- It's low in carbohydrates

OK, these are just facts. What do they mean to me as a housewife and mother or father?

You want your children to eat right and eat what's good for them. You certainly would like to think that you're also eating right. But, have you ever thought about what your children eat during the day for snacks?

Do you know what they eat in school or what's in the vending machines at their schools?

Hostess cupcakes, ding-dongs, Twinkies, cookies, candy, gum, etc. Do you have any idea how bad these are for growing children? There's a growing national concern about the ‘junk’ food that your children eat in schools across the country.

Want to do something about it?

Substitute beef jerky snacks in their book bags, lunch boxes, after school, watching TV, etc. Beef Jerky is light, doesn't need refrigeration and doesn't spoil easily. It has more protean than fish or peanut butter. It has less fat than bacon, hamburgers or cheeseburgers. Beef jerky is better for your children than any other ‘junk food’ that they're eating now. Fruit and beef jerky are the two best ‘snack’ foods that you or your children can eat.

Beef Jerky is an overlooked healthy snack for all ages and for all times.

Pack some jerky when your family goes fishing, hiking, skiing, camping, boating, etc. It doesn't take up much room yet supplies a lot of energy per pound. This is why almost all mountain climbers pack beef jerky in their back packs.

And, let's not forget what else beef jerky is good for.

Mothers love to give it to their teething babies. Unlike those store bought ‘things’ that look and taste like dog biscuits, beef jerky actually has some nutritional value for your young one.

And speaking of dog biscuits, dogs will love you for feeding them beef jerky. It's natural and is excellent for their coats.

Beef jerky can also be used for ingredients in cooking other meals too.

So, next time you think of hiking, camping, fishing, watching TV, skiing, boating, etc. think of beef jerky. No other snack matches the nutritional benefits that you receive from eating it.

Beef Jerky is not just for cowboys or truck drivers anymore. People have discovered that it's also for mothers, mothers-to-be, fathers, children, babies, and dogs. It's the undiscovered health food for the 21st century informed family.

Most store bought beef jerky is considered pretty bad. If you really want to taste some great tasting beef jerky, look for small companies that still make it in small batches from family recipes. A search on the Internet will yield many sites that offer great tasting beef jerky. Some even specialize in odd jerky such as alligator, venison, elk, etc. Others specialize in top end, gourmet beef jerkies such as JerkyMadeToOrder.com

You should try several different kinds before deciding on a favorite. Once hooked, you'll wonder where beef jerky has been all your life.
