Business Storage Requirements - Your Options

Depending on what kind of business you’re in, there is likely to be a requirement for business storage. Whether it’s storing your business archives, unsold stock or unused furniture, there are various ways in which you can utilise business storage, free up valuable space within your premises and potentially save money too.

Shipping Containers

This may not be the first thought for business storage, but disused shipping containers are now being repurposed and used for storage for all kinds of items, from spare auto parts and tools to excess office desks and chairs. Built to withstand extreme weather, heavy use and handling, they are designed to last and come in a choice of different dimension, as well as the possibility to customise the interior to meet your personal business requirements. They are also mobile, so you can arrange for them to be dropped off at a specific location, filled and then picked up and taken to a secure storage facility or left at your location if you want.

Cloud Based Storage

Most of us will have heard people talk about the “cloud”, which is an online data storage system. It can be a great way to store business documents allowing you easy access from different devices, wherever you are. However, these virtual data storage systems do have limitations, namely that they are only appropriate for storing business documents, rather than physical items. Plus, they can require you to physically scan existing hard copies in, so going paperless by using cloud storage can be time consuming if you choose to do this process in-house. Also, you will still need to find an appropriate location to store your hard copies.

Self-Storage Facility Units

One of the more obvious places to look for business storage is at an offsite self storage facility. These offer great flexibility for storing all kinds of items, including unsold stock, office furniture, building materials and electrical items and business archives. With a huge choice of different size units, businesses can choose the perfect unit size to meet their storage requirements in the short term, as well as have the possibility to extend or upgrade easily further down the line. There are plenty of good facilities to choose from and with so much competition this is keeping self storage prices down so there are plenty of good deals to be had and you can easily compare self storage prices for the best deal. Storage facilities are built for purpose, so they are specifically designed to keep your wares safe, dry and intact, as well as allow you easy access when you need it. In addition most storage facilities will have increased security measures in place, so if you’re storing high value items, you can be sure they are under a watchful eye.

Garage Rentals

If you have the need to physically store items, you can also go down the route of garage rental, which can give you a decent sized space for storage of a wide range of things, from tools to seasonal stock or furniture. These can be a relatively cost effective way to approach your storage if you require a temporary storage solution. However, location is key here to keeping your items secure, damage free and easily accessed.
